On Being Resourceful

Here are some resources I highly recommend for further reading and listening! I will let the descriptions speak for themselves.
It’s important to understand that these resources are written/produced by people that are fallible (liable to err) and all are subject to the final authority of Scripture. As a Christian, always regard what others (including yourselves) say in light of what the Word of God says (1 Thessalonians 5:21). This is the practice of discernment. It is also a small introduction to the doctrine called Sola Scriptura: Scripture is the only ultimate and infallible authority for faith and practice. We have been blessed to have a plethora of knowledge at our disposal!
I want to encourage all of us to be resourceful with our blessings.

Here is a hodge-podge of links to the many of the most helpful sources I have benefitted from!

Three Rivers Church

Christ Church

Apologia Church

Theopolis Institute

This whole site is so beneficial. The article linked is a must read to understand how we are saved FOR something. Our salvation is not just “fire insurance.” We are to be faithful in our work here on earth because it matters. Our work is purposeful.

American Vision

This site also has a ton of articles, pdfs, etc. to rummage through. Of all the extra resources though, having a solid foundation and understanding of what the gospel is and the ability to articulate it will always be of utmost importance.

Ligonier Ministries

Another great site to read through. Most of the articles are short. A wonderful legacy of R.C. Sproul’s ministry.

Costly Grace Article

Written by Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Research his story if you have never heard of him. I hope to touch on this topic more later on.

Center for Biblical Counseling

Wow. The problem I have had in my experiences with counseling, even biblical counseling, has stemmed from a lack of regard to being biblical in the counseling. This website was introduced to me by a friend and it has completely reoriented the way I view counseling.

Canon+

Any and everything on this site. It’s also an app. For only $7.99 a month you have access to literally tons of books, podcasts, videos, lectures, etc
My TOP recommendations for women are the What Have You and Femina podcasts. They are available on Apple Podcasts for free!

Half Baked Harvest

Some delicious meals. And tons of them.
How cool is it that you can customize the number of people you will be baking for, and it’ll generate exact measurements of the ingredients you’ll need?!

King Arthur Baking

So apparently Sourdough baking was a thing long before I found out about it. I don’t recall how I came to be interested in it BUT I did.
I killed my first starter on accident by roasting it alive. However, King Arthur has been super helpful with reading up on starters. Plus they have some good recipes.

Almanac

Of course this won’t be applicable to everyone, but just as I tried (am trying) my hand at sourdough bread making, I am trying my hand at gardening. I have a simple 8×4 raised garden bed in my backyard, and this site is great for researching how to begin.
I do want to add that trial and error is OK. There shouldn’t be any pressure to be great right at the start (but good for you if you are). Last year I only had one little squash and a few tomatoes.
